When you experience traumatic experiences that alters your emotional and psychological foundation, you begin to experience a very personal and fragile meltdown. While all of this is happening, your body diligently works to save your life. You survived the initial shock, now the aftermath, yes that personal and dreadful aftermath. Now what?
“PTSD to Freedom – No More War Within”, will tell you to pick up your bed and walk because you are the captain of your ship.
Authors Linda Diane Wattley and William Sumner are veterans of the United States Army. They teamed up together to write this extraordinary and unique book because they both have a heart for people suffering with PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It was obvious to them that if the male and female perspectives and resources were joined together that it would have a profound impact on the world. What they offer is powerful because the truths automatically empower the readers. No doubt, the truth will set you free!
Keep in mind, PTSD is no respecter of persons; you, me, a child, soldier, parent, friend, spouse, lover, doctor, judge, police officer, neighbor, and even a minster can be suffering with PTSD. The good news is that it does not have to be a life-sentence. “PTSD to Freedom – No More War Within” is about having complete control of your outcome and allowing your greatest self to shine.

What makes you proud to be a writer from Akron Ohio? I am writing from Akron, Ohio. What makes me proud to be a writer is the fact I never gave up even though I learned by trial and error to finally self-publish my own book and it comes out amazing! And, my writing is well received by readers and makes a difference in the lives of others.
What or who inspired you to become a writer? I love writing because the experience is awesome taking the unseen and bringing it into the seen. It’s not anything like it.
Did your environment or upbringing play a major role in your writing and did you use it to your advantage? Definitely! After years of sexual, mental and physical abuse, I found a voice in writing. And, I learned I was not the only one. But I learned, everybody cannot interpret the feelings and twisting thoughts that result after abuse. I can do it so naturally which makes me so grateful for such a priceless gift.
What has been your most rewarding experience with your writing process? My writing process opened many doors to embrace and be embraced by others.
What has been the most rewarding experience in your publishing journey? Publishing my first self-published book and confident that it is a blessing for others.
Do you come up with your title(s) before or after you write the manuscript? I have had titles before, doing and after completion depending on how it all comes together in meaning.
Please introduce your genre and why you prefer to write in that genre? I had a difficult time narrowing down a genre because I feel the book is so universal but to say it is a self-help, self-growth, spiritual and psychological general.
What would one positive piece of advice you give to other authors? Know that whatever is within you to express in words, do it knowing others are waiting to read them.
Who is your favorite author and why? Maya Angelou because she was so honest.
